BBC All Things Considered on the Holy Spirit
I was one of the guests on All Things Considered on BBC Radio Wales today for a special programme taking to Jonathan Thomas about the Holy Spirit in the lead up to Pentecost. If you want to hear, I talk about the Apostolic Church, Pentecostal worship, speaking in tongues, healing, the resurrection of the dead, and, well, Jesus! You can listen to the programme here.
Today’s other guests on the programme were Catrin Williams (Professor of New Testament Studies at the University of Wales, Trinity St David), The Revd Dr Gareth Leyshon (a Roman Catholic priest and Director of Adult Education in the Archdiocese of Cardiff), Luca Sparey (an ordinand based at the Citizen Church in Cardiff), and Professor Bettina Schmidt (Director of the Alister Hardy Religious Experience Centre based in Lampeter). All of them were very interesting and the programme is well worth a listen to hear what they have to say.
(I just have to very strongly disagree with one comment at the very end of the show by Professor Schmidt — Pentecostalism *is* about reading the Bible, and Pentecostal experience must flow from the Bible. Pentecostals are very much Bible people.)
